Mrs. Warner’s class released their beautiful Painted Lady butterflies—fly free, little friends!
Mrs. Wynn’s class, Mrs. Law’s class, and Mrs. Warner’s First Grade classes all gathered together to watch this exciting event. What a wonderful way to bring learning to life and celebrate the butterfly life cycle! 🌸

STEM Lab has been buzzing with excitement as students powered through the engineering design process to build their very own Piper Computers! From carefully following schematics to assembling hardware components, these young engineers moved step-by-step from imagine ➡️ design ➡️ build ➡️ test ➡️ improve.
Students explored real-world engineering concepts while wiring circuits, connecting components, and troubleshooting like true tech pros. When something didn’t work the first time? No problem! They debugged, redesigned, and tried again — proving that persistence is part of the process. 💡🔧
Through hands-on problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration, our students weren’t just building computers… they were building resilience, innovation skills, and confidence.
You could say they didn’t just plug in — they powered up their learning! ⚡✨

Ms. Courtney Sasso’s AMAZING first graders wrapped up their science unit on living vs. nonliving with a hands-on STEM learning lab that was equal parts educational and exciting!
Students became real scientists as they:
🧐 Observed differences in movement and structure
✋ Touched & examined textures and features
📏 Measured length and compared data
📝 Recorded observations like true researchers
The big investigation? Comparing living earthworms to nonliving gummy worms!
Through this interactive lab, students applied key STEM skills — asking questions, making predictions, collecting data, and drawing conclusions. They discovered that living things grow, move on their own, and need food and water… while nonliving things do not!
And let’s just say… some of the “nonliving specimens” may have mysteriously disappeared during the experiment. 😄🍬 #ForScience
We are so proud of these curious, hands-on learners who are building critical thinking skills one investigation at a time! 🧠✨ #SPE #PineviewPride #STEMStartsEarly #FutureScientists
Yesterday our incredible FIRST GRADE mathematicians celebrated the 120th Day of School in the most STEM-tastic way possible! 🎉
Because their math benchmark requires students to count forward AND backward within 120, our amazing 1st grade teachers turned this big milestone into a hands-on learning adventure — a 120th Day Math-Themed Escape Room Challenge! 🚀
Students had to:
🔢 Solve number puzzles
↩️ Count forward and backward within 120
🧠 Use critical thinking skills
🤝 Work as a team to unlock clues
This wasn’t just a celebration… it was real-world problem solving, collaboration, and perseverance in action! 💡✨
We are SO proud of our brilliant first graders for rising to the challenge and proving that math can be exciting, engaging, and full of adventure!
120 days down… and they’re just getting started! 💙📚

SPE’s very own Marley Messer has officially won the District Future Chefs Challenge, presented by Sodexo — and she’s advancing to Regionals as one of the Top 40 Regional Winners! ✨🔥
Marley wowed the judges with her incredible Thai Spring Rolls, and we are thrilled to share what Sodexo had to say about her performance:
💬 “Marley, our only first grade finalist, impressed the judges with her Thai Spring Rolls. Her dish was creative, unique, and beautifully introduced a different culture to the competition. For a first grader to demonstrate that level of thoughtfulness and originality is truly remarkable.”
How amazing is that?! 🌟
At the regional level, the top student chefs from district competitions are judged by an esteemed panel of Sodexo chefs. From there, only FIVE finalists are selected to move on to national judging — what an incredible opportunity!
We are beyond proud of Marley! Marley has showed us that this competition is so much more than cooking —it's STEM in action! 👩🔬📐 From measuring ingredients (math), to understanding chemical reactions in cooking (science), to problem-solving and presentation (engineering & technology), Marley demonstrated critical thinking, creativity, and innovation every step of the way. She truly showed how STEM connects to real-world skills in the most delicious way possible! Being brave, putting herself out there, and representing Suwannee County School District with excellence. 💪✨
Join us in congratulating Marley on her district win and let’s cheer her on as she heads to Regionals! 🩷🎉
We are so proud of you, Marley!

❄️✨Blizzard of Brilliance ✨❄️
What an AMAZING turnout for our Blizzard of Brilliance! We had so much fun playing in the snow-STEM style !⛄
Students learned how to make their very own snow and then put their creativity to work building snowmen full of personality. From tiny snow stacks to towering frosty friends, the room was filled with laughter, teamwork and hands-on STEM learning.
A huge thank you to Sherman Riley for helping make this event such a success. We love seeing our students learn, create, and shine together. What a brilliant day at SPE! 🩵❄️

📚🚀 Lunar Landers Take Flight! 🚀📚
Today we celebrated our K–5 classroom winners who read the most words during Literacy Week! 🎉 These outstanding readers earned a STEM-tastic reward for their hard work and dedication to reading.
Students teamed up with Mr. Keith Stavig to design and create their very own Lunar Landers! 🌕✨ The mission? Keep their astronaut “marshmallows” safely inside the rocket during landing. 🚀🍬
There were crashes, redesigns, teamwork, and lots of problem-solving — and of course, a few sweet smiles along the way! 😄
We are so proud of our readers for showing that when you fuel your brain with books, you can launch into anything! 🚀📖
